The Philadelphia Force will take on the Washington Glory on July 30 to August 2. The teams just played for the first time this season in Washington. The Force (22-14) and Glory (23-13) each picked up two wins on the weekend. Currently the Force is in second place in the NPF right behind the Glory.
Currently, the Force has two players leading the NPF with their statistics. Kellie Wilkerson continues to lead the league in hitting with her .442 batting average. Katie Burkhart also leads the league in strikeouts (115). Sharonda McDonald (.320) and Chelsea Spencer (.309) are the other two Force players hitting above .300. Trena Peel had a great weekend for the Force, hitting three home runs and improving her batting average to .295.
Burkhart recorded both wins for the Force over the weekend. Burkhart is currently leading the Force with her nine wins. In 95.2 innings of work, she has an ERA of 2.06.
The Opponent
LaDonia Hughes and Oli Keohohou continue to lead the Glory’s offense. Each batter has 30 hits on the season. Keohohou leads the league with her 11 home runs and Hughes leads her team in batting average (.333). Sara Larquier is big contributor to the Glory’s offense. Larquier has 10 home runs and adds 24 RBIs.
On the mound, Sarah Pauly leads the league in lowest ERA (1.64). The hurler has 10 wins on the season and 97 strike outs. Taryne Mowatt (1-4) picked up her first win of the season in the third game of last weekend’s series against the Force.

This Thursday, July 31, last week’s featured game will be aired on FSN at 3:00 p.m. All games this coming will be available on internet streaming. Streaming can be purchased for $3.95/game or 8.95/month. Wednesday and Thursday’s game will both be televised on Service Electric channel 2.
Exciting Events
Throughout the series with the Washington Glory, the Force will be holding the “Racing to Read” series in honor of readers from the public library programs. The series will begin on July 30 and run through August 2.
On Wednesday, July 30, the Force will be holding another College Night. Students who bring their college ID will receive a VIP ticket and a food and beverage coupon for only $15. The first 300 fans at the park that day will also receive a Majestic NPF replica t-shirt. In connection with the Racing to Read theme, fans who bring a book to the game will receive a free upgrade to lower level VIP from their purchased general admission ticket. The Player Passion will be Trena Peel.
On Thursday, July 31, the first 100 people at the gate will receive a Diamond Dollar to receive a “Cup of Dirt” dessert and a chance to win other prizes. Thursday will also be Dollar Dog Night. The Player Passion will be Jodie Cox.
Friday, August 1 will be ECTB Night at the stadium. Softball players who wear their uniform shirt will receive a Diamond Dollar to be used for concessions. The first 300 fans at the stadium will receive a free Majestic NPF replica t-shirt. Majestic will also be donating an MLB jacket as a giveaway opportunity. Faust Capobianco, the Founder of Majestic will be honored as the Local Treasure prior to the start of the game. The Player Passion will be Emily Friedman as she helps celebrate ECTB Night.
Saturday, August 2, fans will have the chance to win a free ticket voucher. Those who can correctly guess the type of bug in the Bug in the Jug will be entered into the raffle. Saturday will also be “Cookies for the Rookies” night. Any fan who brings at least six homemade cookies to the ticket booth will receive and upgrade to VIP seating from their general admission ticket. Like every Saturday, “The Battle of the Bats” will again be held prior to the game at 6:20 p.m. Michelle Tatlock will be the player passion as she shows her passion for reading and library programs.
Each game of the series, fans can donate a dollar and receive a Bugzie caterpillar foot. All proceeds will go to the Allentown Library.
Also for all home games, fans who bring a gas receipt of $10 or more purchased the day of the game will receive a free upgrade to Club VIP from the originally purchased general admission ticket. The Force have announced their newest promotion which allows any fan that returns with a Ticket Stub from a previous 2008 game will receive $5 off their ticket-This promotion cannot be combined with any other discounted ticket promotion.
